Companies looking for manufacturers to supply private label goods have many options in terms of suppliers. Unfortunately this applies not only to factories that can produce a given item, but also to quality, materials, support, lead times, and ability to consistently deliver in quantities needed by the buyer. Many manufacturers, at the request of their customers, are solely price driven. With several factories producing essentially the same items, the only way to compete on a pricing only basis, is to cut costs, and hence quality, of the components and processes that make up the products they supply. This is precisely the scenario that has led to the "Made In China" brand having a bad name. In reality, by closely working with both Original Device Manufacturers (ODM) and customers (OEM), with an emphasis on QUALITY at a fair price, product solutions good for everyone, including the final retail customer, can be made.
Jade Connections actively sources products in several areas (see below). This sourcing / selection process includes meeting with the factory, evaluation of the manufacturing process (assembly lines, quality assurance, certifications, etc), as well as active product testing. All items listed in our catalogs have undergone this process in advance. In addition, we try to focus on products that are complimentary. As an example, we are currently working with MP4, Digital Video Recorder, and Digital Photo Frame manufacturers in an attempt to develop a set of synergistic product lines where video content can be created and shared across product lines.
